Facebook users can download and save a zip file of information tied to their Facebook accounts. To download your information, go to the Account Settings page and select "Download Your Information." After you have verified your identity via a confirmation e-mail from Facebook, you can download the zip file. In it, you will find both raw and html data that includes profile information, friends list, wall and status archives, photos, videos, notes you wrote, events, and inbox messages. Facebook has posted a video here to demonstrate how the download process works and the types of information included. Each user can only access his personal account information which will give users a clear idea of the type of information that they have publicly shared with other Facebook users.
